Germany is an amazing country in the heart of Europe, it has a population of 82,422,299, its capital is Berlin and its currency is the euro. Christianity is the largest religion in Germany with 62% of the total population.
One of the most beautiful places in Germany is the Black Forest, a mountainous region full of pines and fir trees; in this forest is the source of the Danube, one of Europe’s longest rivers. For this reason, Germany is a country with an incredibly varied landscape, for example, the central and southern regions have forested hills and mountains cut through by the Danube; in the north, you can find Rhine and Main river valleys, as well as a wide plain that stretches to the North Sea.
Between these extremes, Germany is a country with warm summers and definitely cold winters, even if prolonged periods of frost or snow are rare. Rain falls throughout the year, with much of Germany experiencing its maximum rainfall over the summer months.
The country has several gastronomic specialties, for example: Bratwurst (grilled sausage), Eisbeinmit sauerkraut (leg of pork) and mashed potatoes, Schwäbischemaultaschen (large savoury ravioli from Stuttgart), Eierpfannkuchen (pancakes), Schwarzwälderkirschtorte (Black Forest gateau).
Its music is varied but is mostly famous for classical music with Germany’s famous composers that include Bach, Brahms, Schumann, Wagner, and Beethoven. The popularity of Germany´s modern music is increasing with so many bands and singers especially of rock, pop and alternative music.
Germany has many festivals, such as: The Carnival or “Fifth Season” (the highlight of this festival is the Rose Monday parade); International Film Festival in Berlin with more than 400 films from all over the world; Rhine in Flames Festival, this festival in particularly invites you to see the Rhine's natural beauty in a whole new light; the colorful Carnival of Cultures where more than 1,5 million visitors pay tribute to the multicultural spirit of Germany’s capital. Heidelberg Music Festival, Africa Festival, Kiel Week Regatta, and Passau Organ Night are other popular celebrations.

In Germany there are many touristic places like The Reichstag Building, Pergamon Museum, Museum Island, Memorial of the Berlin Wall, Brandenburg Gate, German Historical Museum, Potsdam's Gardens, Rügen Cliffs, Neuschwanstein, Heidelberg Old City and more magical and beautiful places.
In the case of sports, most cities offer many opportunities for outdoor and indoor sports.
Besides, team sports like football; activities like hiking, biking and rollerblading are very popular. Usually there are Formula One, tennis, handball and boxing competitions.
